ASRY scores new leads from Singapore show

ASRY, the leading rig and ship repair yard in the Arabian Gulf, has forged a string of new business leads from the important Singapore shipping market, having showcased its diversified line-up at one of Asia’s leading shipping and marine trade fairs, Sea Asia, recently.

Sea Asia, now in its 6th year, has grown to become one of the primary shipping events on the Asian calendar, and has proved a successful platform for ASRY. 385 companies are exhibiting at the sold-out show, a 16% growth from the previous event. 14,000 shipping delegates, visitors and industry executives attended the 3-day show which ran from 9-11 April.

ASRY’s presence in the South East Asian region is set to see a fortification of orders as a series of high-level meetings with current and potential ship owners and operators yielded a string of new business leads. The Singapore market is a strategically important one for ASRY with many of its ships passing through the Arabian Gulf. In 2012, ASRY repaired 12 ships from Singapore from seven different owners. 2013 looks set to equal that number and with the optimism of the recent push in the area expected to result in an increase in orders.

ASRY’s international calendar of global exhibitions is now in full swing with Singapore being the first of several appearances at global events throughout 2013. The next presence will be in Oslo in Norway for one of the world’s most reputable shows, Nor-Shipping.
